Self1: when did you become a Korean pop culture?
Self2: I dont' know since this year?
Self1: Sigh. I thought you hated stuff like this.
Self2: I know. I did. I was more an anti.
Self1: What happened?
Self2: I don't know.
Self1: Did you imagine to become a fan of a boyband?
Self2: Heck no! I used to hate Korean pop music.
Self1: What's the change?
Self2: I don't know. No clue. But it is like an enzyme and catalyst. Fits right.
Self1: Ok, geek. Do you feel embarrassed?
Self2: What is the point of negative feeling when it makes you happy. Endorphins (And what I say that it makes me think of RW-member of SJ)
Self1: Oh gosh.
Self1: Does it affect your studies?
Self2: No I am a conscientious student. Besides, I've been an expert student. Been a student for 20+ years.
Self1: Oh really.
Self2: [gives a strange look]
Self1: Do you listen to other music?
Self2: of course! I listen to American music. I've been mellowing down on SJ music so that I would have some balance in music. I need it! Or else I'd drive myself crazy. Nevertheless I am a fan.
Self1: What do you think is a positive aspect of being a fan, especially that of SJ?
Self2: Just keeping my thoughts from negativity, and being too serious about life.
Self1: Would you be fan of a girl band/ or girl solo?
Self2: Yes sure. If it suits me. I've been a fan of some female solo artists. Not Korean though.
American.
Self1: Does it feel like you've been a fan for only 3 months?
Self2: no, it feels longer. That's not a bad thing. Although, things are shaky in SJ, with the condition of Kibum, Kangin and Hangeng. There's a 5 year curse.
Self1: What's a 5 year curse?
Self2: that means K-bands never lasted for more than 5 years. And they are in their 5th year.
Self1: oh. Are you embarrassed anymore?
Self2: well, I have other interests. Music is like soul food. It feeds you. if it's the right food, it's good for you. And I am a fan majorly because they show their vulnerabilities. They don't pretend to be high and mighty. They admit they are not the best. I admire for their humility. It has some Christian principles in how great their relationships are and how they accept one another. that is actually the main reason why I am a fan. Besides the fact that their music uplifts me, and they are an under-appreciated band.
Self1: Do you think about what others think of you about this?
Self2: Like I said, we all have idiosyncratic interests. I accept people for what they are fanatic about anyway. And I am sure there are hidden fans out there too, for some boybands or girlbands. We need those things something to preserve our sanity.
Self1: Well, that's it for now.
